The Winter Classic's 36th Anniversary and Wayne Cretney Memorial event is coming soon on the 30th Oct - one week after Labour Weekend.

This year is also extra special as it will be the 40th Birthday Party for Orienteering Wairarapa.

I got the privilege to remap an area I first mapped in 1983 - 40 years ago - the first map I did by myself. It wasn't very good but it was a beginning of a lifetime of a labour of love. This will be the first time lidar has been used for the area.

Location: Riverside Farm Woodshed, off Mikimiki Rd, 14km from Masterton.

New map of Riverside Farm - the north part - Mikimiki Marshes and Shades of Yesterday. Classic courses will do several loops.

And of course as always, the event is in memory of the last 36 years where we have kept our memory for dear departed orienteers and adventurers burning and kept the Classic tradition alive.
